The inspiration for my Bachelor's collection is deeply rooted in my own family history. My surname, Glaser, is a symbol of the material that shapes this collection. For generations, my family has lived with this name, and I have chosen to explore the qualities of glass as a material in my designs. To me, glass represents clarity and fragility, the ability to refract light and distort the world in a unique way.
Glass is an omnipresent material in our daily lives, yet it rarely takes center stage. It allows us to look into containers, gaze outside, consume food, or experience subtler effects, such as the play of light streaming through a church window, which gives the space a unique atmosphere. Glass also enables us to view artworks while simultaneously protecting them despite its fragility. In all these instances, however, glass always serves a purpose and remains in the background—it’s never really about the glass itself.

Unlike materials like wood, which offer a tactile and sensory experience through touch and smell, glass is primarily experienced visually. This structural ambivalence is reflected in its ubiquitous presence, yet it seldom captures our full attention.

This collection seeks to bring glass to the forefront. Inspired by the natural connection to my family name, "Glaser," the impetus arose to deeply explore this ambivalent material. Various forms and types of glass, along with the glass-making process, served as key sources of inspiration for this work. Glass was translated into fabric and its visual effects into designs, embracing its duality and using it to integrate this seemingly solid, fragile, and colorless element into the world of fashion.
